Protecting Children. Supporting Families. Strengthening Community.

Keeping children safe requires prevention, education, intervention, and trust between law enforcement and the community.

The Brownsville Police Department is strengthening its child- and family-focused public safety efforts through specialized training, community engagement, prevention programs, and enhanced responses to cases involving children and vulnerable victims.

Child Safety Fund investments help provide officers with additional tools, training, and resources to recognize risks, respond appropriately, and connect children and families with support.

Prevention Is Public Safety

Protecting children means responding when help is needed—but it also means working to prevent harm before it occurs.

Through education, training, partnerships, and community engagement, the Brownsville Police Department is helping create an environment where children can feel safe at home, at school, online, and throughout their community.

Safe Today. Strong Tomorrow. Protecting our future together.

Get Involved. Stay Informed.

Child safety is a community effort. Throughout the year, participating City of Brownsville departments will host educational programs, community outreach events, safety demonstrations, family activities, wellness initiatives, and other opportunities connected to the Child Safety Fund.
